Orchard Park is close to Newbury, a colourful market town that offers many attractions including the famous Newbury Race Course, Victoria Park, which boasts wonderful greens for the keen bowler and the Donnington Valley Golf Club. The Kennet and Avon canal provides delightful walks, interesting museums and mills and leisurely boat trips. Newbury town centre has recently been pedestrianised and offers good shopping facilities as well as a popular theatre.

The towns and villages of West Berkshire offer a wealth of historical buildings and local churches, gardens and craft activities. Nearby Hungerford has many antique shops and Pangbourne is delightfully situated on the banks of the River Thames which inspired Kenneth Grahames 'Wind in the Willows'.
